FAQs

Jewelry care

All Mereen pieces are fabricated in solid 14k gold, 18k gold or platinum. These pieces will last you a lifetime with proper care.

When to remove your Mereen pieces

We recommend you do not take your Mereen pieces for adventurous outdoor activities or other high impact activities where damage to the gemstones is likely. Keeping fine jewelry away from swimming pools, gyms, baking activities, cleaning, pottery wheels, paints and gardening is always a good idea.

Applying lotions and perfumes with jewelry on, can lead to debri buildup which can dull the appearance of jewelry and require additional cleaning.

Please note, a lot of our jewelry incorporates Sunstones. Although they are stable stones and won’t fade with wear, special care should be taken while wearing these as they can be damaged from high impact.

Cleaning tips

Cleaning your jewelry at home is easy with warm soapy water (dish soap is best) and a soft-bristled toothbrush. Use a lint-free polishing cloth to remove smudges and dirt when needed.

Gemstones like emeralds, turquoise, opals or any other softer stones should not be put in an ultrasonic and should be cleaned very carefully. Using any abrasive cleaning tools on these will result in scratches.

Storage

It is best to store your Mereen pieces separately in a soft lined storage container, perhaps the jewelry box you piece arrived in. Storing pieces together can result in scratches or damage from interaction.
